This world of ours is large, with many peoples, places, and activities. It is easy for one to find one task at which they excel and to pursue that skill and that skill only. This allows them to truly master the skill. The beauty of the modern world is that not everyone has to do everything. However, the narrow pursuit of a discipline prohibits the expansion of one's self-awareness. It is through seeking new experiences and uncomfortable situations that we truly come to understand ourselves. I pride myself in my abilities in math and science. I have always had the kind of mind that readily jumps into the logic and the numbers and the abstract concepts. Before My Little Pony, I was loud about how smart I was. After reluctantly starting the show, and eventually loving it, I became more confident in every aspect of my personality. If any of my friends were asked about my most prominent characterisitic, they would reply that I am unafraid to be myself. The 8th grade heralded another revelation for me: the art of programming. That year, I joined my school's robotics team. I had no idea what I was getting myself into, or how to do any step of the process, so I simply decided to become a programmer. I knew nothing about actually programming, but I was willing to learn. Since then, I have gotten a 5 on the AP Computer Science A exam, and am currently the lead programmer for Titan Robotics, the TC Williams robotics team. I had my background of interest in math and science, but deciding to become a programmer has opened up entirely new avenues in my life and has introduced me to amazing people as well as the thrill of competitive robotics. All that being said, I have not only grown through pushing myself beyond my mastered skills. This year I am enrolled in AP Physics C, one of the hardest science classes
