I was very restless. I was struggling to make sense of the smorgasbord of emotions, feelings and thoughts in my mind so I can reconcile them with where I am and where I wanted to go. At that point in life, I felt I could not boast of any accomplishments in my life. There were no laurels that I could lean on. I felt like a meandering generality bereft of any purpose. But I knew one thing, though. If I needed change in the scenery then I needed to change my path. But I resolved to change. I knew that a transformation in me, for the better, would come only by deliberate deeds. I decided to exploit that talent and use it as bedrock to build my confidence and self-esteem. Having made the decision to turnaround my life, I intensely applied myself to the task of making the High School team. So I wasn’t surprised one-bit when I made the Varsity Tennis team at my high school. But my doubles partner who was assigned to me was younger to me, but with as much experience as me. I originally thought that he was a mediocre player, but to my astonishment, he was extremely adroit. The more we practiced and played matches together, the more our friendship solidified and found ourselves rooting for each other, just as I had hoped. For that season, we had one goal in mind - to win the Middlesex County All-Division title. In order for that to happen, we had to win against every doubles team in our division. My father often says that when you apply the Laws of Belief, Expectation and Imagination to your endeavors, in addition to ‘giving it your all’, then your efficacy increases exponentially.
