Everyone has trials that impact their lives and disrupt current events, but my situation is directly related to persevering through stress and difficult times, which is what makes an excellent nurse.
A devastating year of my life was my senior year of high school when my mother passed away from a heart attack, for this reason I want to go into surgical cardiovascular nursing. I want to know exactly what the heart does to keep our bodies going and what kinds of things influence its function.
My studies are so important to me that I went back to school two days after that tragedy to prevent myself from falling too far behind in my classes. I was able to graduate with over a 3.0 grade point average and receive about 10,000 dollars in scholarships through my high school.

I would like to pursue this directly upon completion of my Associates as I already have a Bachelor’s in animal science.
My success in 4-H was the reason I decided to pursue a degree in Animal Science with a diary concentration. 4-H had a positive influence on my life and offered me solace when dealing with the death of my mother. I felt obligated to finish it because I am not one to start something and quit. Now that this degree will be completed I can pursue my true passion and transition to a registered nurse.
Nursing has been a goal of mine since I was about eight years old. My grandmother was a Licensed Practicing Nurse at a nursing home for over twenty years. To me nursing is not just a career. It is about the difference you are making in each individual person’s life. During the time I lived with her I loved going to work with her and wearing scrubs, as if I were the nurse.
