My action speaks louder than words and people can perceive myself any way they want to because I don't care," but then I started to dig myself and I changed my mind. I am the type of person who doesn't really care about society but If I say I don't care about how people think about me, I would be lying. One thing that I know is that I want people to see myself as a grown up. I feel like everyone looks at me as a kid and I think it has something to do with the fact that I am the only child in my family.
My family for sure, plays the biggest part in shaping of who I am today. Growing up wasn’t always smooth sailing, I often was influenced by many negative people that tried and guide me in the wrong direction;however, my family members were the ones that never seized to stop improving me. During the peak of my junior year when all the algebra, physics, history, and english classes were piling up in enormous numbers and were causing me to stress and
In life I have noticed leadership to be a key attribute of mine. This was not a quality I would seek to obtain, it was more like one bestowed upon me. Growing up I was the second oldest and only daughter of four children. Though we were rich in spirit, financial hardships made it difficult and at times impossible to fulfill the basic needs and wants of most kids. With the odds stacked against us, I began at a young age to realize that I had to take charge, I had to make a change, I had to lead.
The first article I read was “Designing for Distraction”, by James Ludwig. The article discusses creating a workplace that will minimize the distraction in the workplace. Designing the workplace is all about solving the problems that people face with distractions. Most people suffer from having to deal with a lot of distractions in the workplace. People like to seek out what is new out there to improve the workplace.
What makes me, me? “Culture is not a surface phenomenon, it is our very core.” -Edgar Schein. This quote caught my attention because of how true and relatable it is.
If you are struggling with finding a calling in your life the people around you could have an influence on your life whether negative or positive. Listening to those around you could have more of an effect than you realize, over time it can alter your happiness listening to peers. The ultimate goal in life is to be happy long term and gain a sense of fulfilment while doing so. People struggle with moving in and out of situations that leave them unfulfilled and struggling to find happiness. The picture with the quote “be true to who you are” was a very relatable quote that I feel holds value to my life and what I stand for as a person.
To kill people legally; a dream of mine. Some children dream of being doctors, school teachers, astronauts, policemen, or lawyers. But for me, killing people seemed the way to go. As a child I had always a desire to be a bounty hunter, sniper, hitman, or some sort of vigilante. However, I would much rather have the law on my side and fight along side brothers of a common purpose.
My friends always know how to make me feel happy and grateful for the littlest things. My friends also teach me that I should notice the small things in life. I am very grateful that I have friends and a family who challenge me to be a better person and live a better life. I believe what makes a life worth living is learning from mistakes, learning about life, and growing as a person, and my family and friends teach and challenge me with this
Everyone has asked themselves; who am I? I am Arturo Contreras, a sophomore at Ridge Spring-Monetta High School, in the small-friendly town of Ridge Spring. I am originally from California, where I was born and raised till I was five-years-old. People at my school know me as, “That real smart dude,” but I believe that there is no such thing as smart or dumb, only mature and immature. I personally want to be recognized more and not just my maturity and intelligence.
My family is the most important to me. Even though I might fight with my brothers and sisters, they make me who I am as a person. I live in a family of 10, and it is really hectic at times. There is my mom, my dad, Kaity, Buddy, Zak, Ryan, Kaycie, Ryan, Me, than Kaylee.
Who Am I My experiences throughout my life, good or bad, are the reasons why I am, who I am. These experiences, which I will go into detail, that have shaped who I am, in my opinion, dictate how I try to live my life daily. To accurately describe why I live my life the way I do, I need to talk about events that believe shaped my current life and beliefs.
Through all the tough and terrible situations a person may be wrapped up in your family is usually the group of people you can go to, and get the best most helpful advice. In my family I have certain people that I can automatically go to and tell them my problems without being judged, and I always get the best advice. People in your family are the people you keep closest to you because they are blood, and they’re not friends that come and go. They are blood and will always be apart of you and want nothing but the best for you. People in a family that give the best advice are the ones who have gone through so many battles in their life because they know what it takes to overcome them.
They have always encouraged me to do my best and strive for the best, they have always supported my positive decisions, and they have always helped me when I’ve been in trouble. My family has been there for me and each other through thick and thin, and I really love them. Their advice, support, and encouragement have incited me to endeavour for the highest possible achievements. My family is my major influence as they have affected my life from the very start of my life in everything I do.
but I was always taught to be thankful of the things that I had and to not be so selfish. Having two other siblings helped me prevent the want of being selfish. I do not know what I would do without my family. My family is very inspiring because they show me all aspects on how I should live my life through their experiences like education, parenting, and work ethic.
The question posed in the title, “Who am I?” is very simple but the answers are never so. What defines me as who I am as a person today are relatively my attitude, my personal values and beliefs to life that developed throughout my life. “Values are constructs that we hold as important and beliefs are constructs that we hold to be true (Collins & Chippendale, 1995)”. Meanwhile, attitudes are relatively lasting clusters of emotions, beliefs, and behavior tendencies directed towards specific ideas, people or objects (Baron & Byrne, 1984). Generally, my family members, friends and the experiences I had contribute to my sense of who I am and how I view the world.
