Art is what I am passionate the most since I was a child. I am applying for a place on the MFA Fine Art course at Slade School of Fine Art, University of London, because it allows the students to explore wide range of art branches. Although Painting, Illustration, Photography, and Film are the main four art fields that I am interested in, having the chance to learn more about art in general fascinates me. In my opinion becoming a video artist is a way to combine those areas of study. But in order to do so, I would be required to have deep knowledge of art theory, technical, and practical skills that I am sure I would be getting from the Slade.

There were several projects in A Level which I used to explore my interest in art video. Looking an object from a different perspective was the starting point. I then began to create various moving images that were combinations of art photography, illustration, paint and other see through objects that could distort images. I was particularly interested in refracting the lights. Due to my curiosity in the art of filmmaking, I decided to deepen my knowledge in film production course at the Art University Bournemouth. Although stepping into a whole new world and learning new things were not easy, I gained a lot from this course, such as teamwork, scheduling, time management and technical skill. I did not have time to explore the art and experimental video making in this course due to the technical workload to completing the degree. Thankfully I had the chance to create some art video footages for the projects outside the university such as Palapa Network promotional video, music video for Tokyolite Asia Versus Fuji TV Japan official band selection, and short film called the Roots of Six. I did two short courses outside the university. Wirework Jewellery Workshop was where I learned to challenge my creativity by making delicate pieces of jewellery using various beads and wire.
