Have you ever seen a college game that is coming down to the final seconds? You can feel the intensity of what will happen next will he or she make the buzzer beater or will he go down and score the touchdown? It is all a part of college sports. What team will win and what team will lose, will it be the big time favorite or that loved cinderella story of an underdog team winning it all? Well it is all because of the college athletes playing that you get to see those game, and you know what they don't get paid a dime for playing their sport. Honestly they should get paid because it's them working hard for each game trying to win every time giving it their best effort.
First of all without college athletes the NCAA is nonexistent. Although the NCAA is a non profit association they still give a large amount of money to successful coaches.Last year the NCAA men's basketball tournament made 1.15 million dollars in ad revenue.(1) The players that should have gotten the money didn't and still went all out to win a championship. They make shirts and accessories to earn more money and go to bigger arenas to fit more people and sell more tickets when their is a big game. If you are worried about it corrupting the college feel of the sport well that is where you are wrong because the NCAA is just like professional sports. (4) Just like pro sports the NCAA sells jerseys and shirts of a team to make money but the players that wear the jerseys are not paid from it.
