There has been an ongoing debate on whether or pursuing a college degree is advantageous to a student right out of highschool. Many people advocate going to college because they believe it will yield greater rewards in the future, while others oppose pursuing a higher education because they think it is a waste of time and money. Earning a college degree will enhance your chances of having a steady job. According to the clip ‘Five Ways Ed Pays” it concludes that “If you go to college, you are less than half as likely to be unemployed” (p.58) Earning a college degree-at any level will open doors to greater job stability. Certain jobs, however inherently have a lower unemployment rate than others. Even though the economy may be a turn down, it’s not common for employers to get cut from their jobs, who have their college degree.
