I am applying for this course because I realized that I don't want be only a chef, but I want to become something more, achieving a degree. Eating is something that everyone does, irrespective of who you are and what you do. As Ann Wigmore said, "The food, you eat, can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest for of poison". What fascinates me about food, is how it can do good to people, giving pleasure to senses and at the same time can create diseases. Being born in Italy has given me a way to feel, select and check food in an almost obsessive way: always looking for the perfect product, the perfect taste, the perfect appearance and the perfect solidity; mix of characteristics to complete their quality. I was a member of a Gospel music group and a female football team. I work hard in all I do and I am always willing to help others improving themself. Deciding to study Nutrition and Dietetics at degree level was a choice I took to acquire more scientific knowledge and learn how to encourage and promote a more livable and healthy lifestyle by teaching patients, people or the community more help to get a better, safer and more satisfying quality of life. Being accepted to this course, will give me the possibility to get a degree and give me a chance to enter in a team of people working for the well-being of others. I never had faith in my capacities when I started my school path, I never knew what I wanted to do in my future, but in the course of this five years I begun to feel this enthusiasm and happiness in my heart each time a new chapter or argument about nutrition was about to start, anything linked to it enchanted me, only then I understand that this was and is my future. I couldn't imagine myself doing anything else. I feel joy any time I give some nutritional tips to my friends or family, any time I help someone with what I've learned from school and from work.
