Acknowledging one’s identity may be discovered through influential life experiences, but to me, the foundation of my identity begins with my father. Noel Estampa, my father, inspires my sisters and me to strive academically and socially. Noel’s personality and traits reflect and influence my own identity. Never a tempered man, Noel Estampa stays tenacious and withstands adversities throughout his life. Living in poverty limits my father from a decent education, and it also leaves him the only option of working at a young age. From sanitary jobs to delivering newspapers, my father remains resilient even when the labor became too difficult. Thus, he believes that even if it gets tough, anyone can achieve greatness by undergoing hard work. To my father, achieving greatness for us begins with education. Although my father never completed college, he prioritizes my education as well as my siblings. Whether we needed transportation to a ceremony or a pep talk after not doing well on a difficult test, my father assures us to never falter and persevere. With my father’s reassurance, I have become more resilient when I do not do well on a test or get rejected from an interview. He makes me believe that more opportunities open when one comes to an end for me. My g father also shapes my hard work ethic and helps me strive as an honor roll student in school by being moral support. Noel never fails to go beyond himself and remind my siblings and me the importance of a hard work
