Dyslexia
In my articles, both of which are titled Dyslexia, I discovered a lot about the learning disorder. In the passage by Nelson, Katy, and Tish Davidson, it showed the definition, demographics, causes, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment. It was published by The Gale Encyclopedia of Medicine in 2015. The article by the UXL Encyclopedia of Science discussed just the causes and treatments of the learning disorder, dyslexia. This was also published in 2015.
Understanding the disorder is important for everyone; dyslexia affects up to one fifth of the population, so you are bound to encounter someone who has it, and they may need someone who understands that it isn’t a lack of schooling or laziness, but what they were born with. Dyslexics will have to decipher and decode while reading to gain an understanding of the passage. The disorder causes slow reading and little comprehension.. A few of the symptoms or signs of the deficit include difficulties with spelling, reading, and writing; unreadable handwriting, and trouble reciting the alphabet. Dyslexia currently affects up to twenty percent of people, being very common and prevalent. The only cause we know of is unpreventable: genetics. The deficit tends to run in families of those with it. Many people assume that it is caused by a laziness, little schooling, or psychological problems. This is, in fact, untrue, for it is only hereditary. Dyslexia is very treatable, although there is no technical cure. Many people who have a minor cases do not need any help or treatment to get along, while people who have a more severe case do special education or medications to help. Special education usually includes specialists in reading who assist them to learn how to apply skills that are needed while
