As a student in the United States of America, I have the right to form an Interest group about my issues which is the high tuitions of the Colleges. Thus, we made an Interest group and we named it NOCASH which stands for National Organization of Collegiate American Students Needing Help. forming and keeping this group has of course some obstacles. The obstacles such as having no money and time as a college student. The first obstacle that we have in this interest group is money. Thus, we can easily access teachers and talk to them about this group with their students so …show more content…
One of the example is the State Interest Group in the Indiana University. One of the issues that they are following in their group is the cost of the text book that are too high to afford and sometime causes students to get C in their classes because they cannot pay for their books (Nassim). The way that their group is trying to show their concerns is protesting. Protesting is cheap and can easily be heard by the officials especially if many people are involving in that protest. But on the other hand this way is time consuming and students cannot always afford the time to join the protests. Thus, they have decided to extend their protest as not to attend their classes and protest against the prices but this can cause failing from their classes. Also, students of the University of California at Berkeley made a movement group called funeral for public education that is protesting against the tuition cost of the colleges. Since they are in one of the famous Universities, their strategy is simple because everyone can hear them if they protest. Just like the State Interest Group of Indiana University, they started to make protest. Also they have social media pages that are inviting the other student to join their movements against the cost of the colleges from their University and other Universities in the United States.
