Factors such as money problems, not knowing what you want to do as a career choice, and having the train of thought that college is basically useless or not needed, can heavily influence one's opinion and/or decision making on whether to go to college. However, like many others, my decision to go to college was influenced by the attempt to perfect my craft, with it being in music. I believe expanding my knowledge of music can help bring in beneficial outcomes such as profit, and new skills to the table. In an article posted by USA Today , 3 professionals place their opinion in the air about whether musicians should attend college or not. Their responses may shock many individuals on both sides. All 3 professionals believes it depends on the factors of what kind of music you want to play, how much about music you want to learn, and what path you want to take. Tim Kasher, one of the professionals who participated in the interview stated, “My take on college for musicians is that it depends on what kind of musician you are. Technical musicians who got degrees in music — it helps them a lot. They’re getting jobs as a result of their expertise…” However on the flip side, the other interviewee, Dia Frampton, she chimed in by saying, “I learned about the music business and being on tour by actually being on tour. Technical musicians or people in orchestras don’t necessarily have to go to school, either...Music is not like being an author because you can kind of do that at whatever age. Music I think has to have a time limit for certain things.” With those two statements being said, I decided to take Kasher’s side of the argument because obviously you take more away
