The answer to that question is yes.
College Isn 't The Only Answer If anyone has ever went to high school, then they have heard about college. Everyone has a different point of view on the idea of college. Part of it depends on how someone was raised.
Paying for college is a stress factor that students experience every day. On top of all the stress from school work, some students have to worry about paying for college also. Many resources for students are available to prevent students from having to work a full time job, or even take out a loan. Even applying for scholarships and pell grants and receiving them, paying for college is still an added stress. High school students are always encouraged to take AP or honor classes to help themselves get into college.
The value of a higher education outweighs the cost because a college degree has a high return on investment, more and more jobs require a college degree, and college graduates live longer and healthier lives. Whether you can afford a $20,000 school or a $70,000 school, it is now more important than ever to equip yourself with a college degree to become a successful, productive member of society.
There is an ample amount of information that leads people to believe that college is a great choice. In Source F, it is shown that, “Adults who graduated from a four-year college believe that, on average, they are earning $20,000 more a year as a result of having gotten that degree. Adults who did not attend college believe that, on average they are earning $20,000 a year less as a result.” Also, provided in Source F, “...55% say it [college] was very useful in helping them prepare for a job or career.” While these statistics are true, the negatives still outweigh the positives.
College graduates earn significantly more in their lifetime compared to those who only have a high school diploma. By having the government in aid to help reduce the cost of tuition, more people will have access to a college education. The increased tax revenues would enable the government to provide services to the constituents. Having more money go into the economy will help money go towards funding college however they would choose to deal with splitting the costs. This benefits students and our nation because more students can start work and more people would be in the work force and helping the economy.
