College Tuition Should be Free to Help the College Students In today’s world college is a huge part of many people’s lives and with college comes money. Many people come out of college with an insane amount of loans that take years or even decades to pay off. Now, this is a huge problem for people in today’s world because in society people with degrees get usually are the people that end up getting good jobs in the future. This means more people want to go to college and more people want to get a degree to get these jobs. High school parents usually never investigate the real cost of college and when they push their kids to go to college and pay these insane amounts when they graduate makes them not want to go. A reporter from CNBC says, “High school parents expect the annual cost of college to be $22,257, on average, Fidelity found, including room and board, books, and fees. What most parents want to do is just take out loans and have their kids pay them when they graduate; this just isn’t right. The college tuition shouldn’t be pushed on the kids to pay off when they graduate because even then jobs aren’t guaranteed and even if they do get a good-paying job, it’ll still take years to pay off. Back in the day college was incredibly cheaper making it much easier for kids to get a great education. Fasfa does exist, but they also do not pay everything and will hand you out loans to pay off the rest of your tuition. Many people say that making college free would rise taxes incredibly and although this may be true, would this be a pro or a con? With free college, many people would be more educated and able to solve issues in the real world. Communities would work better together by having people who know how to solve problems and jobs would have plenty of staff instead of being short-staffed. There may be cons to this, but in the long run, the world would be a better place and people would get along better with there being more educated people in the world. Even fast-food jobs would be running more smoothly and faster with more educated people since they will have more communication and problem-solving skills. All in all, having college tuition be free or even close to free seems like the right thing to do in the world today. This will help students be less stressed, have more money, and not have to worry so much about money and where they are going to live all the time. Although this a controversial topic it does seem like the better option for college students today.
