Built in 1705, the Colonial Williamsburg 's capitol had made decisions that have changed the history of the U.S. with years of work put in to validate it. In fact, many decisions by historical geniuses influenced history, and majorly affected our current rights and independence from Britain. In addition, guidelines left behind from the colonial age taught us how to maintain a fair government of which a democracy takes place. Also, Virginia would still be owned by Britain without the capitol. To add on, years of work in the capitol make today a better generation. For these reasons, all these exceptional reasons that make the U.S.in its current state today, the capitol building of Williamsburg merits a minted coin of commemoration by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. First, the past era of Colonial Williamsburg, the capitol served as not only the capitol of Virginia, but used as a court as well as a location for crucial decisions to be made. The quote, "That the future may learn from the past," is a truthful way to state our knowledge of government from the past in relation to today 's. For example, in today 's government a proper democracy takes place because of knowledge gained from the Colonial Williamsburg capitol 's brave and intelligent decisions. To add on, the capitol taught us how to run a successful government with representatives and congress, while keeping a fair profile. In addition, we learned from past mistakes to include women and African Americans in the government. Consequently, we have learned many key components to a successful government based on the colonial era 's Williamsburg capitol
