The appropriate action of the colonists in response to taxation imposed by the British crown

The reaction of the colonists in regards to taxation imposed by the British crown caused tension between colonists and Imperial officials. Reason being is because when the British returned from the Seven Year War they were swamped with debt. Upon being in debt the British merchants came to collect their pay from the colonists that was supported by the British and brought British imports. This called for the British Prime Minister George Grenville to cut back on molasses and sugar and to implement new laws.

The Stamp Act was intended to impose a tax on all paper used for official documents while raising revenue. The colonists did not agree with this Act and became very hostile, so the Act was repealed in 1766.

In this particular debate I feel the British Parliament to include British Prime Minister George Grenville and the House of Commons were the victors; reason being is because the colonists were being surprised with new Act each year. The Acts was raising revenue and when the British merchants came to collect their pay from the colonists that was supported by the British and brought British imports during the war could not pay their debt. The laws were causing tension colonists and imperial officials. I think this was a political concern because the peoples in office were the one making all the rules and laws. Just like in today’s society the average company that gives there employees a raise there employees will never see it because of the raise of taxes. Just like making over time on an average job: all the overtime will go towards taxes. People need to ask themselves, "Do we have a tax problem?” If the answer is "Yes," Then is it a political, religious, or economic concern and is there anything we can do about
