As I continue to grow as a person, both intellectually and morally, I continue to ponder about what my future will be. I am hopeful that one day I will become a college professor and graciously contribute my past and current research to the university. By participating and leading funded outreach projects, I hope to develop the skills and knowledge needed to be able to start my own personal research. I plan to perform my personal research on the spectrum between stream ecology and fish physiology on the West Coast. My love of continuing to learn, fisheries, natural resources, and teaching others encouraged my desire to be a professor where I can incorporate my findings into classwork. The course of study I’ve chosen at Colorado State University is comprised of everything I need to achieve my goal. The fish, wildlife, and conservation biology program is something that sharply stood out to me when deciding the university that would aid in and encourage learning about my biggest passion. Fisheries and an aquatic science concentration go hand-in-hand, because of this, as an undergraduate I will have the opportunity to build professional relationships with professors in lectures, labs, and becoming part of their team for university research projects. By providing interdisciplinary seminars, the honors college emphasizes what it means to be well rounded thinker and learner. These seminars are changing the way science is perceived and explained by addressing the issue that many scientists still struggle with communication.
