During my research I was shocked to find out that Comcast, who recently rebranded its cable television, internet and phone services under XFINITY, offers more just these three services. In an attempt to make it the best experience in the industry, in addition to XFINITY Voice, XFINITY Internet, and XFINITY TV, Comcast offers a home security and home automation service known as XFINITY Home. This provides customers with a total home and automation solution. Comcast Business is available to those interested in taking their business to the next level with services such as inter, phone and TV connectivity. They have created products that have changed industries and people’s lives, such as video on demand, the X1 Platform, the XFINITY TV app and Powerboost. Xfinity TV has brought its customers more of the content they love, wherever they are, on any device. The X1 platform, also an entertainment platform, customizes apps, social media features and video services to give customers a personalized TV entertainment experience. The X1 platform also enables its customers to get personalized recommendations and apps on TV. As part of their cloud technology innovation, Comcast is currently rolling out the X1 DVR that will include cloud technology and live in-home streaming. Xfinity Internet offers a wide range of flexible and reliable services, including the nation’s fastest internet and the nation’s fastest in-home WiFi via the Xfinity Wireless Gateway - all made possible through investment in building a network that makes broadband widely available. Outside the home, Xfinity internet provides its internet customers free access to an expanding network of nearly one million WiFi hotspots in select cities from coast to coast. Customers with internet services have a dashboard called Xfinity Connect, an online portal allowing them to access their email, contacts and calendars, program DVRs and to listen to their voicemails. Last, but not least, Comcast has decide to reimage how people communicate with Xfinity Voice. Xfinity Voice is Comcast’s phone service that combines the features of a traditional home phone with those of a smartphone. Similar to Xfinity Internet, Xfinity Voice customers have a dashboard called Xfinity Connect – making it easier for them to check emails, manage their voicemails, address book, DVR and calendar, and send text messages.
