Less than a year ago, my brother, Jacob, and I were arguing over something that wasn’t very important, like a snack food of mine that he ate. Today, he is not alive. We always fought over meaningless things and he angered me so much. It’s absurd how much something can change so quickly and how much I wish I had something back, even if it made me mad. I would take all the arguments and fighting back in a heartbeat if it meant I could have my big brother back. I would apologize for all the mean things I said about him and for being mad at him all the time. He fought against the world every day of his life. One day, the world defeated him and won. Throughout those 19 years, he did so much with his life. He never let a day of his life go to waste. He lived more than anyone I had ever seen. He brought a child into the world when he was just 15. Once he turned 18, he ended up dropping out of school because of the constant bullying he had been getting since he was a young kid. He met the girl of his dreams shortly after that. He wanted to get his G.E.D. so he decided to take some courses at C-Tec’s adult education program. With help from his girlfriend, he passed and successfully received his G.E.D.
