I am reading Chopping Spree by Diane Mott Davidson. So far this book is about a caterer named Goldy who has a troublesome child. She needs to get ready for a huge catered event, but her son keeps making her worry about what she is going to get for her son’s birthday. When Goldy is setting up for the event, someone stole a truck and tried to kill everyone who was helping Goldy carry the food inside. After the event that had a few conflicts, the owner of the mall, Barry, was murdered, and the prime suspect for the murder is Julian. In this journal I will be connecting and evaluating. Goldy has to get up really early for a catered event. She drinks a lot of coffee so she can stay awake. Goldy drinks so much coffee during the day she has a coffee problem, but she is trying to cut back on how much coffee she drinks every day. “My system craved coffee. Of course, I hadn’t given up espresso entirely. I was just trying to cut back from nine shots a day to two” (Davidson 6). She always finds an excuse to have more coffee such as, she “forgot” to put chocolate on a truffle, so she needs to have coffee with it. Goldy gets instant karma from drinking too much by dropping the cup she is drinking coffee out off. Goldy is so tired that everything distracts her.
