She helped the doctor up, and gave her a napkin. She showed Rudy to his room and stayed there until he fell asleep.
Rudy’s father came to the mess the next day. Ilsa found him and showed him Rudy’s state. He took Rudy and carried him to his shop. They did not heal easily it took a long time for them to accept the truth. Liesel’s cremation would be in a week and someone would come.

Everyone was in black. The only thing there that was out of place was a brown haired and eyed person. Rudy recognized him. It was Max. He ran up to him and pulled out the book and gave it to him. Max started crying he couldn't believe his best friend wasn’t there when Hitler died and he got released. He couldn't believe that he wouldn’t be able to share any more memories with her. Or tell her how everything went when she last saw him. All he had now was Rudy.

After the cremation, Rudy and Max got to get very close to each other. They spent their days and nights in Rudy’s Dad shop. They got to bond very well and were close to Liesel and Max’s relationship. No one would ever share that bond with Liesel. He will always remember he and cherish their memories. No one will ever forget
