Over the summer I read the book “That Summer” by Sarah Dessen. Haven is a 15 year old girl with a lot of family problems. Her mom and dad are split up and her mom is going through a lot . Her dad that is not there have the time is getting re married to a new woman. In addition to that her sister is getting married to a guy she can’t stand. Before, her family fell apart Haven had a crush on one of Ashley’s old boyfriends Sumner. But, when he comes back those feeling come back even stronger. The significant passage of the book is chapter 12 when it all come out. In chapter 12 Haven runs away from all the ridiculous things happening at home.But, then Ashley finds her and he truth comes out. Haven not knowing what happened in the between Ashley and Sumner. Made her go crazy to the point where she didn’t want to believe. That Sumner cheated on ashley. For example Haven’s mom and dad getting a divorce. Anyone with parents who are split can relate because I can. Also, Haven and Ashley being sisters have a bad time. “ Hey I’m not done taki to you. It”s very selfish, you know, you pick these few day things for whatever adolescent breakdown you’re chossing to have. Very Selfish. I’m selfish! I said, and found myself actually throwing my head back to laugh, Ha! “ Look you better get your stuff together in the next 5 seconds or you will regret it, Haven.” This shows that people in real life can have real relationship
