Stressed Out" is a song written and recorded by American musical duo Twenty One Pilots, for their fourth studio album, Blurryface. Written by Tyler Joseph,the lead vocalist of the duo, the lyrics discuss the harsh end of adolescence and the transition to adulthood. In the line “Wish we could turn back time/to the good ol' days/ when our momma sang us to sleep/but now we're stressed out..” ,it speaks about nostalgia for childhood and the pressure of adulthood. As a teenager on the edge of adulthood,I can definitely relate to this. With the pressure at school,there is not much time in my day to do much else but work – work to get good grades,which will lead to getting a matric certificate,which will hopefully get me into university. This meant I experienced fatigue,loss of apetite,chronic headaches and so on. In order to recover,I missed nearly 3 months of school. I also,hand in hand with that,missed 8 weeks worth of work. I was overwhelmed by stress and worry about how I was going to catch it up. I brought this up and was presented with an opportunity - I did not have to write exams for that term. This obviously saved me a lot of stress,and made me feel a lot better. But,of course,I was still a bit stressed. I thankfully recovered and got back to school and was able to catch up all my
