The subject of a talk, a piece of writing, a person's thoughts, or an exhibition. That's theme, mainly known as one of the most important things in literature. Without theme stories would be pointless. For an example, The Great Gatsby by Francis Scott Fitzgerald would not be the magnificent story it is today without its many themes. The fundamental and often universal ideas were created by the theme. The most evident theme in The Great Gatsby was pursuing the American Dream. In this book mainly all of the characters wanted money and power. Everyone was overwhelmed with the thought of having a certain amount of money and a certain amount of power. They all wanted to live that big American Dream that everyone knew about. It seemed as if that was their only goal. They don't realize you can't buy happiness. But being poor wasn't even in their moral of choice, no one wants to be poor especially when you can have it all. It seems like the author made it so that men work to earn money for the maintenance of the women. So the women would stay home all day while the men went to work from day to night to earn the money to provide for the woman. While reading this story you could easily tell that the men were dominant over the women.The only hint of a role reversal is in the pair of Nick and Jordan.Jordan's androgynous name and her unique style masculinize her more than any other females in the story.
