Communication Final I chose to write my final based off of Harry Potter. For the interest of time and amount of material I will only consider the first film for this paper. Harry Potter is a movie made after the novels created by J. K. Rowling. It takes place in a world much like our own, except there is a hidden world of wizards and witches. Of course they must all go to school and practice their craft, this is where the story begins. Harry plays many roles. He plays the role of the “normal” child at home. In this role he does not know magic and is treated as a lesser individual by his adopted family. Harry plays the role of a student at Hogwartz, where he attends school. He plays the roles of friend and enemy to his peers. Harry also plays a special role of a hero in a sense because he is known at the one who lived. When his parents were attacked and killed Harry managed to survive. In the eyes of others this made him very special that an infant could somehow manage to evade death under such circumstances. …show more content…
This makes for an interesting start to developing relationships. “Interpersonal relationships develop through coordinated interaction”( Trenholm & Jensen, 2013). Some characters see Harry as a threat or as competition and others see him as a powerful ally or friend. “As relationships unfold, we begin to analyze and evaluate them”.( Trenholm & Jensen, 2013) However, with all of the preconceived ideas others have about Harry he is forced to analyze each person’s behaviors almost before even getting to know them.
