The Community Food Bank is a local food distribution organization that aids in feeding the hungry in the central valley. Over the past couple of years the food bank has had a significant amount of growth, becoming of the most efficient food banks in the country in regards to its employee to food output ratio. With all of the growth the food bank has experienced, the staff has stretched fairly thin, and experienced problems because of it. The food bank’s major problems fall under two main categories: culture and communication divide, and stressors and stress management (CFB MGT 110 Virtual Teams Case Competition). Regarding the food bank’s communication issues, the bank has a physical barrier of communication due to the facility's layout. In addition, it has trouble communicating due to some of the food bank workers not having access to technology. Although many view team building as lame or a waste of time, studies prove otherwise.
