Based on the latest closures of some local grocery stores within the same relatively close, high crime rate, and geographical location, even though these locations were not highly lucrative stores within the company; it seems to be quite clear that company Q’s foundation does not seem to be built on social responsibility. It also seems pretty clear to an outsider that their base is also not built on profitability. It is evident that Company Q is not contributing in a positive way to the local economic development. Closing these local stores has damaged the lives and economy of the local workforce and their families, not to mention the local community as a whole. The recent actions by Company Q could of very well influenced the customer outlook and left them wondering if these locations were shut down due to either racial or cultural attitudes felt by the company as a whole or even its investors. The action of closing these locations poorly reflects on the company image as a whole. This action places Company Q in a downhill spiral towards complete social irresponsibility. Company Q could increase their overall profitability and local image by increasing the type of requested items that they place in the stores and by doing this they will also be showing the community that they care about their customers and their health concerns, which will also show that they are trying to become, and are once again concerned with their socially
