In “ Alice Through the Looking Glass” by Linda Woolverton and “ Hunger Games” movie #1 by Suzanne Collins the movies are both similar and different. In “ Alice Through the Looking Glass” Alice goes on an adventure to help save Mad Hatters family. In “ Hunger Games” movie #1 Katniss must fight for her life to keep herself alive. In this essay I will be comparing and contrasting the characters, the setting, and conflict. The first way there similar and different is their characters. The characters in “ Alice Through the Looking Glass” are Alice, the dog, Mad Hatter, Hatters Family, the white rabbit, Queen of Hearts, the White Queen, Humpty Dumpty, Alice’s Mom, Absolem ( the butterfly that leads alice into the mirror), the old rabbit, Cheshire( the floating cat), the chess pieces, the time guy, Helpers of the time guy, the little mouse, the big twins, and Hamish( the guy that tried to marry alice). In “ Alice Through the Looking Glass” and “ Hunger Games” movie #1 they both have similar and different conflicts. In “ Alice Through the Looking Glass” the conflict is man versus nature. The conflict is man versus nature because Alice has to fight through time and fires to save hatters family. Also the antagonist is the Queen of Hearts because she had been getting on Alice 's way of finding Mad Hatters family. In “ Hunger Games” movie #1 the conflict is man versus society. The conflict is man versus society because Katniss has to go against people in the districts to keep her life. Also the antagonist is Peeta because Katniss is really good friends with him and she eventually is going to have to compete with him. They are similar because they both have a conflict of man versus man. They both have man versus man because Katniss has to go up against all the districts and in looking glass Alice has to go against time and the red queen. This is how there conflicts are similar and
