Spartans and Their Views on Death By: Peyton Perry There was a city state in Laconia, on the Peloponnese in Greece, that was home to some of the greatest warriors in history. This city is Sparta and its citizens are the Spartans.The Spartans had a different way of life than the other city states around them. The men lived a very hard life of military training and war. While Spartan women lives were much different than any other women in the other city state. Spartan women would be in charge of their spouses estates because the men were always battling. They were raised to believe that death in battle was the ultimate goal in life. They were trained not to show any weakness. Whether that weakness be them showing pain or them caring for their children or wife to much. They would live a brutal life looking forward to the day they could fight and die for what they believe in. This way of thinking probably had a huge impact on how effective the spartans were as warriors. How can u intimidate and fight an enemy that craves war and wants to die fighting. So in conclusion the Spartans were a race of people in ancient Greece who were trained for war from an early age. They would spend most of their lives training and fighting wars. They strongly believed in their religion and rituals. They did not fear death because their civilization raised taught them that death was not something to fear, but that it was something to look forward to as long as you die in battle fighting for your home.
