Compare and Contrast Draft “Back to My Own Country” written by Andrea Levy and “Shooting an Elephant” written by George Orwell demonstrate the theme of people’s different backgrounds of culture and society. However, Orwell’s essay represents the differences between law and moral beliefs, demonstrating no moral freedom. Meanwhile, in Levy’s essay, she discusses her experience of freedom through learning and self-discovery. In “Back to My Own Country” the author talks about her whole life experiences.
