Deciding where to eat is a difficult task in itself, but becomes even more difficult when choosing between two restaurants that offer almost the same variety of products. We are not talking about two fast food chains, but rather, two sit-down restaurants where you can enjoy your time with whomever you decide to take. It might be a little more expensive, but the food is better and the memories will last a lifetime. The two restaurants we will be comparing are Bob Evans and the International House of Pancakes or IHOP. Both are very appealing to the appetite of a hungry person and will fill you up pretty quick with their big portions. Bob Evans and IHOP both serve up a wonderful dining experience, but it’s the little things that count when deciding who is better. On my scale, Bob Evans takes the cake with their exceptional diversity of products, their prices and sales, and the atmosphere of the facilities. As stated by the company Statista (2016), “Between 2008 and 2013, the revenue of DineEquity dramatically decreased from 1.61 billion U.S. dollars to 640 million U.S. dollars. Since 2013, the revenues have increased somewhat, but have never exceeded 700 million U.S. dollars” (par. 4). The International House of Pancakes just cannot seem to get out of this vicious cycle of losing money. They need to think of something fast before turmoil takes over and there is nothing left of the business or of their restaurants. Maybe they could bring back an old classic that sold greatly, or think of something that is completely different that everyone would like to try. Revenue is not the only issue IHOP has going against it though, their atmosphere within their facilities seems to be lacking
