“Breakin' down my people, tryna kill our faith and hope” - 21 Savage. This line represents how african americans were, and still are oppressed. This quote also shows how people did not support, or help people of color. Its sad that this has been such a monumental issue, in American society, that is becoming bigger everyday. This all started when African Americans were brought during the slave trade back in 1619. Then the slave trade became illegal in 1808 although slaves were still traded across the country. Then in 1865, the Civil War ended, stopping slavery completely, but this did not end all of the problems. This just created a era of confusion, and rebirth for african americans. People did not know how people would react,

Washington wrote about his beliefs, and what he thought would be best for the world. Years later, W.E.B DuBois wrote about his beliefs, and his issue with Booker T. Washington’s documents. Booker T. Washington and W.E.B DuBois were influential to the development of the country, and how people began to accept african americans, and their culture.
Booker T. Washington and W.E.B DuBois had different insights on the issue due to their views on how other cultures should accept african americans, and how african americans, should respond to other cultures. Booker T. Washington believed that african americans and other cultures, should forget, and start a new. Washington and W.E.B DuBois had their differences. Their views on the topic were different because they had conflicting cultures. Booker T. Washington was born a slave, and knows the struggle people of color had to go through. W.E.B DuBois, was a European who did not fully know the struggle of slaves because he did not have to be a slave in his lifetime. W.E.B DuBois was looking in on slave life, and culture, while Booker T. Washington was a part of slave life and culture. Although DuBois was not a slave, while Booker T. Washington was, that does not mean that Washington's views were superior to DuBois. Personally, I think that DuBois had a better argument due to the fact that he did not believe in dropping culture and history in order for slaves to not be discriminated against, and believed that african americans would have to deal with racial issues. I also think that in the end, neither of the views were able to be accomplished. There are still racial issues in America, and people of color are not always viewed in the best light due to stereotypes that people attach to african americans. Booker T. Washington believed in trying to have people of color, ask for help, and eventually gain enough to be able to help other cultures and races, and have this happen without segregation, and discrimination. He believed that cultures should work together for the betterment of the world, and that races should be so connected to each other that they would be willing to die
