Chile and Ukraine don’t really go hand in hand when compared to each other due to their differences in location on this planet, their surroundings, and even what each land consists of. Chile is located at 30 degrees south and 71 degrees west whereas Ukraine is located at 49 degrees north and 32 degrees east. This huge difference in location has a lot to do with the significant dissimilarities between the two countries along with the landscape, surrounding bodies of water, existing life, and climates that each one has. Ukraine is very well known for having much land that is suitable for farming and growing crops due to its flat land (Makuch, 2015), but Chile is definitely not that way. The vegetation in Chile has had to learn how to adapt to the lack on the rain in the south and find a way to survive with the colder temperatures (Johnson, 2015). The landscape looks very different in each country as well. Ukraine has woodlands and marshes throughout while Chile has only some vegetation in the north and more and more deciduous forests and evergreen trees appear as you go farther south (Makuch, 2015 & Johnson, 2015). Chile looks this way because many weedy species of plants have slowly made their way throughout the country and humans have also made a great impact on the forests and the lack thereof (Veblen, 2007). The animal life in Chile and Ukraine varies even more than the plant life does. Chile lacks diversity of animal life and has a copious amount of rodents with very few predators (Johnson, 2015). Ukraine, though, has very diverse animal life with many predators and several nature and game reserves where these animal roam (Makuch, 2015). Again, they vary so greatly because of their locations in the world and where animals have had opportunities to reproduce and survive based on the resources they have around them. It would make sense that Ukraine has more plants and animals than Chile does because Ukraine has a much friendlier atmosphere for animals to live
