Have you ever imagined yourself being in a situation so strange it didn't feel real? In Eager, by Helen Fox is in a futuristic period where robots have become too smart to the point they try and take over. Alone by Megan E. Freeman, it's about a girl who got left behind during an emergency evacuation. Eager and Alone are different because of the people in the story, setting, and plot. Eager, by Helen Fox, and Alone by Megan E. Freeman are different because of the characters. In Eager, there are robots and humans. In the text it states, “No one wants old-fashioned domestic servants anymore. They want robots to be ‘personal assistants’ or even friends!” (Fox, 14). This shows that in Eager the characters are human-like robots unlike alone. In Alone by Megan E. Freeman the characters are only a human and a dog. In the text, it states, “I’ve been left behind” (Freeman, 50) and “George makes me braver”. This shows that the character is by herself but only has a dog by her side(George). As you can see, the books are different because in Eager they have human-like robots in the book meanwhile in Alone it only has a girl and her dog. …show more content…

E Freeman is different because of the setting/period they're in. In Eager, the setting takes place at the end of the 21st century in Great Britain. In the text, it states, “ his mum kissed Gavin, “morning” she murmured.”( Fox, 6). This shows that they live in Great Britain because they address their mother as a mum. In Alone by Megan E. Freeman. In the text, it states, “One looks like a wolf, but there are no wolves in Colorado are there? Could it be a coyote?” (Freeman, 267). This shows that they live in Colorado and the time is set in the 80s, not like Eagar which is at the end of the 21st century.
