The 9/11 attacks in 2001 were one of the most destructive and difficult times in the history of the United States. Since then many things had to change for the safety of the citizens in the United States, in order to keep citizens safe. These attacks were detrimental to our nation, but at the same time, really brought many people together in how the nation needs to protect each other together. With that being said, something needed to be done in order to promise that something like these attacks never happen again. In a time of hardship and a time where the world felt like they needed to feel safer, George W. Bush stepped up to do what is right for our country. He made many different changes to our government after the attacks, and he did it in a very efficient way changing many aspects of it to ensure citizens’ safety. The 9/11 attacks shaped how the U.S. government works, and how the national security of the United States has changed post attacks.

Bush. Bush was the president at the time, and needed to act on the incident so that everyone felt safe and secure after the strike on our nation and our government. He did an excellent job at stepping up and doing his duties as president to fund and improve our national security. George W. Bush transformed our military and highly strengthened our national security to wage the War on Terror and secure our homeland. President Bush had also more than doubled funding for Special Operations within the marines. Bush had also given the Special Operations Command the lead role in the global War on Terror. Without the help of George W. Bush, many citizens would not feel as safe as they do now, and our government would not be as strong as it is today to fight off
