Danger at Your Doorstep Two professors of psychology from the University of Washington, Dr. Neil Jacobson and Dr. John Gottman, spent a decade researching the differences between the kinds of battering husbands. The professors typified the kinds by the severity of the harm they inflict, the ability of women to escape a relationship and the risks the women face if they do leave. Spraying down the walls of the cement kennel, I thought about what might happen to all these wonderful dogs.
