Imagine a world filled with technology. The birds singing, the trees whistling in the wind, the leaves scrunching up, and raindrops falling on the concrete with that autumn smell. No one in the story Fahrenheit 451 realizes the “outside world”. All until one girl with the name Clarisse changes perspectives. It resembles what our society is like today. Technology is slowly grasping our world one second at a time. Kids are no longer playing outside and adults are not stopping them. The real world is sitting outside and listening to what nature has to offer. There are two different cultures and Guy Montag and Clarisse try to change society with their unique personalities.

Guy has a very unique personality that shifts throughout the novel. Montag before running into Clarisse is very normal and fitting along to society. He also takes pride and joy in his job at the firestation. Montag fits the definition of a fireman a fiery face, black brows and black hair. All the firemen are the exact same Montag notices. Within the last few years a daunting feeling starts growing on Montag. Montag then realizes that deep inside he is not happy and he begins feeling depressed. He starts to ask himself is he really happy with mildred and is he really happy with his job. Mildred does not ever talk to Montag and she more less does not love him very much. She cares way more about her parlors and earbuds. After Montag wakes up to reality thanks to Clarisse he begins watching her family from his yard. He is intrigued by her family because she tells him while they are walking that herself along with her family talk all the time and talk about life. Once Montag had found that out, he was shook. Once Montag burns an elderly woman alive with her books that's when everything changes. He had then realized that there must be something special about books that the woman was fighting for. Montag then keeps a book which is illegal and he begins to read it along with others that he had possession of. He portrays happiness in the book with everyone being the exact same and living every day the exact same. In the book everyone in society is racing down the streets not noticing anything. Nobody has second thoughts or has a reflection in that type of society. Our world today is so deep rooted into technology that we are starting to not notice life and what it truly has to offer. If time goes on technology will only grow more stronger and ruin our world even more. We all need to stop and take time to reflect on our life and look at all the beautiful things in nature.
