ADVANCED Fahrenheit 451 Comparison This paper is about comparing and contrasting the Ideas and styles of different texts. In this case Fahrenheit 451 will be compared to other literature. Science Fiction, Transcendental and Revolutionary comparisons will be made. Fahrenheit 451’s Science Fiction will be compared to the movie WALL-E, Transcendental will be compared against Civil Disobedience and lastly Revolutionary will be compared to The Crisis No.1. In the movie WALL-E humanity left earth leaving the mess of garbage to robots and boarded a ship flying through the stars living in the lap of luxury and over the decades humanity had become completely dependent of technology they are clothed by it, it does everything for them. In WALL-E earth was abandoned a long time ago and people packed themselves up into a ship and went out to space, over the ages people had advanced tech. at their disposal and they abused it becoming extremely lazy and fat, the technology/Robots did everything for them. In Fahrenheit 451 Montag’s wife is so attached to her Tv that it’s her “Family” the interaction with people was cut off and she ignores montag only caring about her “Family”. Montag is a fireman and he loves his job which is burning books, through the story he realizes that books are the evil things the government made them out to be and he starts to collect them getting himself in trouble. 1 and Fahrenheit are, in The Crisis No.1 Thomas Paine says that “britian with an army to enforce her tyranny has declined that she has a right (not only to TAX) but to bind us in all cases whatsoever” Thomas spoke strongly about how britian thinks they can do what they want.(The Crisis No.1 pg 177) In Fahrenheit 451 there are people who hide books in their homes rebelling against the government hiding them away in nooks and crannys the fireman more importantly Montag, were placed there to stop any and all people from attempting to cause a revolution. In one scene from the book the firemen use force and throw the books into the pile in a house and the captain just says burn the house down too but the old woman does it herself, she’d rather die than live without her
