When deciding between the Hamilton Mill House and Oak Street House for our growing family, my wife and I compared the entertainment spaces, the play areas, the educational opportunities, and the features of the neighborhoods. Both the Hamilton Mill house and the Oak Street house offer the same great educational opportunities and closeness to family, but the Hamilton Mill House had better entertainment space, bigger play areas, and a more family friendly neighborhood. One factor that was important to my wife and I when choosing which house to purchase was the potential spaces to entertain our family and friends. There are two brand new libraries that are located within five miles of each home and more then a couple museums within a few miles, where my family and I can visit during the weekends. The Hamilton Mill and Oak Street homes are both located in the same Gwinnett County school district, which will be great for our growing family in the years to come. However, both homes where located in two different types of neighborhoods. The Hamilton Mill house was located in a more laid back neighborhood with no homeowner association fees and with distance between the each home, so that I can’t touch my next door neighbors house while touching mine at the same time. The Oak Street house was located in a neighborhood with monthly homeowner association fees, and each home was located too close to each other. After comparing the Hamilton Mill and Oak Street homes, my wife and I had decided that the Hamilton Mill house would best fit our family needs. Yes, the Oak Street home had a bigger kitchen and living room but I love the backyard and the basement that the Hamilton Mill house had. I also realized that I could expand the kitchen and break down a wall to have the open kitchen concept for family entertainment. My wife and I are ready to move out of her parents’ basement and into our first home
