The game of basketball is dictated by the official’s and how they decide to call the game. In two different games the official’s called a completely different game, one game being away vs Ottawa university and the other a home game vs Oklahoma Wesleyan university. What these two games have in common is that they were terribly called and ran mostly by the officials from questionable calls, bad judgments and favoritism. In the away game vs Ottawa university, the officials were in pretty good shape and seemed to be physically fit to be able to keep up with the pace of a college basketball game. The game started out cordial without many fouls being committed but that changed very quickly within the first five minutes and it stayed the way for the rest of the game. One of the official’s out of the three was a little unfit but he did a decent job of getting up and down the floor. As far as foul counts the official’s called the game very evenly but the calls that were made were very questionable. In one moment, a player on the away team went up to attempt a shot, the shot was contested heavily and from the official’s prospective the player wasn’t allowed room to land because he fell. so, he called a foul and the guy was able to shoot free-throws. On the very next possession after the free-throws were shot, we came down and the same situation occurred, but no foul was called. At all time it is the job of at least one of the officials to pay attention to the person who is shooting the ball and makes a judgment whether the shooter is protected or not. So, for the same incident to take place and only one be called seems very questionable by the official’s in this game.
