Although you 've may have seen or heard many people taking crazy trips out in the world to accomplish a thing or two you may have even heard of these two guys. For one Adam Shepard wanting to accomplish things he wanted right along as Chris McCandless. Both white males, right along both of them have, a college degree, Chris is being 24 and Adam being 25 years of age. The Motivation for Chris McCandless was that he wanted to show everyone that you didn 't need all that money to get all the materialistic things in life, While Adam Shepherds motivation was to show Barbara Ehrenreich Author of Diamond Nickel that the American Dream was real for everyone . Between who was most admirable out of Chris McCandless or Adam Shepard it would have to be Adam Shepard because what he has done is what everyone wanted to do is to accomplish, The American Dream.
In conclusion, the both arguments Finkelman and Wilson made were both well-supported, but Finkelman’s assertions were more supported. The four primary sources support both historians’ arguments well in different degree. All of the document seemed to support Finkelman’s explanation, and some documents like Jefferson’s letters supported more of Finkelman’s while Jefferson’s other documents seem to support Wilson’s more. Their judgment on Jefferson’s action differ because Wilson judged him in terms of morality in a historical context that he had better morality than other people in that period —“Jefferson did not take the next step of concluding that blacks were fit only for slavery” (Wilson, 1992)-- and acted for the sake of the slaves. Ovid’s Metamorphosis vs Harrison Bergeron All our life we have been taught to follow the rules, but what happens when we don’t? Two examples of this are the Icarus tales, the original source, “Metamorphoses” by Ovid and the short story “Harrison Bergeron” by Kurt Vonnegut. They both tell the story of a son who pushes gets too greedy and overcome with emotion and in the long run that ends up killing him.
Harrison Bergeron was a book written in 1961 that portrayed an abnormal child defying the dystopian government; in 2009 a movie was made, based off of it called 2081 that changed the character both physically and morally. The differences in how Harrison Bergeron, the main character, appears in each story changes how the audience perceives his morality. These changes are easily highlighted in Harrison’s age, dialogue, and appearance. The tone of the story is also changed, resulting in similar changes to what the audience interprets. As both stories continue these differences become more and more apparent and by the end, there is a clear split in what the audience ‘takes away’.

John Colter also got to join Lewis and Clark in their famous expedition. John Colter and Tom Murphy were very similar in many different ways. They both became very famous explores by difficult journeys they made.
“At that moment, I realized the journey I took was never mine alone either”(171). The Other Wes Moore was about two kids that lived in the same neighborhood that had the same name. They both went to different schools but did similar things. Both had difficult times with there family and with school. Similarities and differences pertaining to Education and family issues of both Moores were described in The Other Wes Moore.
Zaroff and Montresor are two characters in the short stories ‘’ The Most Dangerous Game’’ by Richard Connell and ‘’The Cask of Amontillado’’ by Edgar Allen Poe. Montresor and Zaroff are both wealthy characters who are the antagonist in their respective stories and murder other characters. The motivation behind the killing is what makes them apart from each other. Both of these characters are considered crazy but Montresor seems saner than Zaroff. Do they both have an exceptional excuse for what they did?
Burke and Condorcet are two men born in the same era. While the two great philosophers had something in common, they differ a lot in the sense of their political views and many other things. In this essay, similarities and differences of the two men in terms of their actions will be analyzed. The ideas and circumstances of the two men influenced greatly on their actions.
Justice Has Not Been Served “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” This quote by Martin Luther King Jr. discusses the issue of influence amongst countries throughout the world. If an act of mistreatment is exposed to the public, it manipulates the opinions of the innocent, causing widespread havoc. Humans are dealing with this dilemma today, but the realm of literature is dealing with it as well. The protagonists of the dystopian texts Flawed by Cecelia Ahern and Rash by Pete Hautman are victims of nefarious social classes, and both are isolated from society for their own good.
Thomas Morton and William Bradford are both famous for their accounts of New England. Thomas Morton and William Bradford practiced different religions. Thomas Morton was a conservative Anglican, which meant that he believed in the Church of England. William Bradford was a Puritan, which meant that he wanted separate congregations from the Church of England. Both men based their accounts of New England off of their religious views.
People rebel when no justice being served. It is understandable why people act a certain way. Have you ever loved someone more than yourself? A person is your biggest pride and joy to be safe? Can you imagine how it feels to no longer have your pride and joy with in a split second, due to the way they look?
Living Somewhere in Between Good and evil are present within every person one will encounter in his/her life. Is it better for to just solely focus on the good and live life blissfully ignorant, or to focus on just the bad and live life aware and depressed? Is it easier to focus on the bad in others and ignore its presence in oneself? Nathaniel Hawthorne portrays both of these situations in his stories “Young Goodman Brown” and “The Minister’s Black Veil,” showing the reader that the world is not simply black and white. There is a grey, blended area for one to live in that allows him/her to live peaceful but not ignorant.
The arrival of the first Europeans in the Americas is dramatically captured through the many writers who attempted to communicate what they saw, experienced and felt. What is more, the very purposes of their treacherous travel and colonization are clearly seen in their writings; whether it is poetry, history or sermons. Of the many literary pieces available today, William Bradford and John Winthrop’s writings, even though vary because the first is a historical account and the second is a sermon, stand out as presenting a clear trust in God, the rules that would govern them and the reason they have arrived in the Americas. First of all, William Bradford provides an in-depth look into the first moment when the Puritans arrived in the Americas. In fact, he chronicles the hardships they face on their way to Plymouth, yet he includes God’s provision every step of the way.
