Judaism and Islam are two out of three world religions that are major faiths belief in only one God. They are share similarities and also have differences. Each of these religions have very unique and distinct characteristics that set them apart from one another.

Judaism, the first real monotheistic religion started in Palestine during 13th Century BC among the ancient Israelites.The founder of Judaism is Abraham and Sarah. And the followers believe that they descended from Abraham and Sarah the first people who worship Yahweh (God). Yahweh is the name they called for God. Followers today are known as Jews. Their holy book is Torah. Torah says that God made an agreement, or covenant with Abraham so because of this, Jews believe they are God’s “chosen people”. The most important of God’s law are Ten Commandments. Also there are 3 group of Jews, they are Orthodox Jews, Reform Jews (the most important Jews), and Conservative Jews. There are some importants holy days, which is Passover, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur. Their symbol of faith is Star of David. …show more content…

They believe that Muhammad is the last and greatest prophet of Islam, following Abraham, Moses, and Jesus.Their holy book is the Quran. Quran describes the Five Pillars of Faith that obligations all Muslims must fulfill. They are : 1. Confession, or statement, of faith; 2. Pray 5 times a day, facing Makkah; 3. Give charity to people in need; 4. Fast during daylight during Ramadan (the month in which God began to reveal the Quran to Muhammad); 5. Make the hajj , or journey, to Makkah to pray (once in each Muslim’s lifetime). There are 2 groups of Muslim, but most of the world’s Muslim are Sunni; Iran and Iraq are Shiites. Their symbol is
