Who does not enjoy reading a passage from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. or Malcolm X? The answer is lot of conservative people in our society. There is a difference between reading and comprehending, and with theses two great leaders you must understand their objective. Once you understand it, it is difficult to disagree with their views. In my case, of course I agree with their views and material because it is still relevant to this day. Malcolm X stated in The Ballot or Bullet, “All of us have suffered here, in this country, political oppression at the hands of the white man, economic exploitation at the hands of the white man, and social degradation at the hands of the white man.” It is outlandishly that these words still speak volumes. This country was not made to benefit African-Americans, so we will continue to be oppressed because it is institutionalized. …show more content…

Being a black woman in America now, is not as harsh as it was many years before. However, we still have not progressed, as we should have given the amount of time that has passed. Both forms of messaging are a true representation of answers and perceptions that fit today’s world. As we know, Dr. King has a more subtle approach to justice, whereas Malcolm X has a more demanding approach. Malcolm X is blunt and does not care who agrees and who doesn’t. His text is a true definition of being unapologetic. Dr. King on the other hand, seemed to construct his messages more carefully. Dr. King takes a non-violence approach of gaining action, and Malcolm X believes in doing whatever is necessary. It is safe to say that Malcolm X is more of an extremist vs. Dr.
