Everyone must decide what to do after high school. I have decided that college is the route I am taking. I have done a lot of research on colleges. I can confidently say I prefer the University of Iowa to Morningside College because Iowa is less expensive, has more students, and more activities to do. The two schools I am comparing are the University of Iowa and Morningside College. One of the most important things for me in comparing colleges is cost. Morningside’s in-state tuition is $26,680. Tuition isn’t the only that has to be paid for. Once including room and board and all the other fees involved the estimated cost for one year is $37,885 (Tuition Costs and Bills). Activities are more fun with other people.Morningside College has 2,542 students, so it is not a very big college. There are more than 50 clubs available to join (Campus Organizations). One thing that is a big deal to me is sports. Morningside competes in the NAIA. The University of Iowa is significantly larger with 29,748 students and over 500 clubs available. There are over 20,000 more students to do activities with. With so many more students, it would make meeting new friends a lot easier. Also, the Hawkeyes compete in Division 1 for athletics. While Morningsides sporting events could still be fun, I do not think the atmosphere is nearly as good as it would be in Iowa City. I imagine being at Kinnick Stadium watching a Big Ten football game. Kinnick Stadium’s capacity is 70,585 (Kinnick Stadium). Morningside’s football game does not match up against that at all. With more clubs, people, and better sporting events the University of Iowa is the clear winner when comparing
