Eating disorders such as anorexia and obesity are due to body dissatisfaction and unhealthy diets. Even though both anorexia and obesity lie on opposite sides of eating disorder spectrum neither are appealing. A dilemma presents itself when you’re comparing anorexia and obesity, both are detrimental to your health, finances, and motivation. Both disorders damage the body profoundly, but anorexia leads to a lot fewer health issues, but still doesn’t do the body well. Organ failure is typical, but in some cases fatal. The kidneys, heart, and liver are the first to be damaged. Your blood pressure lowers significantly, you begin to lose hair, have irregular heartbeats and could also obtain osteoporosis. Another issue associated with anorexia in women is infertility. While men also suffer from anorexia it's much less common in men. As inhumane as this sounds, anorexia leads to less spending simply because an average American spends about $44,820 on food each year. Now that you're aware of the few, but crucial comparisons between anorexia and obesity you can dictate which is worse. I wish none of these upon anyone due to the amounts of health and financial issues they bring as well as the strain they create on one's motivation. Nobody is perfect and society has screwed that up, there's not one straight definition of the word beautiful, yes there's the common definition found on google, but everyone has a different interpretation. Anyone suffering from an eating disorder whether it be anorexia or obesity should find themselves as the definition of beautiful. Self-love is so important and our society does not enforce it
