Have you ever thought that heroes can have similar characteristics even if they are from two different parts of the world? The epic hero, from the epic poem, The Odyssey by Homer, Odysseus is a hero that has to go through a journey back home full of obstacles because of the punishment given by Poseidon. Spiderman, a hero, from the movie Spiderman Homecoming lives in New York City and defeats local gangs and other enemies. Odysseus and Spiderman have similar qualities such as planning out situations before they are in risk of execution, but Odysseus doesn’t have the technology like Spiderman where he is able to shoot out spider webs from his gadget.
They both plan out their situations through observing their surroundings and waiting for the right time to put it into action. When Odysseus gets stuck with his men in Cyclops's cave, he needed to make a plan to escape and get back to his ship to get home safely. Odysseus tells the Cyclops, “Try some wine.

This was just the start of his plan that he had made. This shows that the men didn’t kill him but instead just blinded him by stabbing the weapon into the Cyclops's eye.
