Two brothers named Eteocles and Polyneices are fighting over who should be the ruler of Thebes due to the fact they both want to be king. However, during battle, both brothers are killed on the battlefield; resulting in neither of them being king.The new ruler, Creon, who also happens to be their uncle, declares Eteocles to be buried and to leave Polyneices on the field for ‘dishonoring’ Thebes. Antigone and Ismene, sisters to Eteocles and Polyneices, are arguing over whether or not they should defy what their Uncle Creon has ordered and bury him anyway.
