The Spiritual model is getting a sense of how people’s spiritual and religious beliefs, values, and practices might be related to their presenting problem and can also provide direction to clients in constructing solutions for their lives. Spirituality is individual, subjective and can be expressed in different ways. Some people choose to express their spirituality through religion or religious practice, while others may not. Spirituality can also be described as the search for answers to life’s big questions, why is this happening to me?
For example, nurses work with patients 24 hours of a day, 365 days a year while other professionals are likely to work a 9-5 shift and will often not work at weekends. This makes mental health nurses to have more contact time with patients. Another difference is that nurses provide holistic care, unlike a social worker who deals with the social needs of a patient. In spite of the differences in roles, all healthcare professionals work together as a team to provide care for patients.
Social workers have several responsibilities. They have to provide service, justice, and dignity to a client. They have to possess integrity, competence, and patience. Social workers need to possess knowledge of human rights, and how to perform scientific inquiry. Social workers occasionally have cases in which problems ensue and a solution is not found within a certain time frame.
Since 1789, the founding and ratification of the original thirteen state constitution of the United States has revolutionized its government in order to protect its citizens as new advancements are made to benefit inhabitants of the recent New World. Since then the constitution was amended in order to gratify the needs of the people. This includes The Social Security Act, The Older Americans Act, Medicare and Medicaid Programs, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and No Child Left Behind program. The values and ideologies that are most important to my future practice include respect for the inherent dignity and worth of persons, service to humanity and competence in professional practice. First, my value of providing respect for the inherent dignity and worth of persons is important to me and my future practice because it allows me to see the uniqueness in all my clients and subsequent cases. Moreover, it further guides me to allow my clients to be self-determined individuals.

My understanding of Human Services is to help people who need additional help and guidence to move forward with their life. Sometimes people need help with external problems such as the loss of a job, the need for food or housing or for help getting out of a dangerous situation or mental and physical health crisis. The Human Services practitioner is a professional who acts as an agent to assist and or empower individulas, groups, families and communities to help them function more effectivly in all areas of life and improve living condition. Human Service professional will always advocate for their clients and will never give up on them and make sure to strive for the clients well being as long as the client want to change.
Maintenance of Clients’ Dignity in the Practice of Social Work The person is always a central axis in the process of social work. A person who becomes a client of the social worker is unique, his life history is unrepeatable. When a professional social worker affiliates a relationship with his client, he knows that his personality is violated, so they together have to try to restore a mutual beneficiary interaction between this person and the society. A social worker can accomplish this purpose just if his activity is conducted by highest values.

Social work is a dynamic helping profession, where the main goal is to improve the welfare of every individual in a society. Law is a system of legal rules that governs the way members of society interact with each other. Law is necessary for order, justice, punishment, protection and to settle dispute. Social workers need to have familiarity with the legal process and the understanding of basic legal principles in order to effectively be able to assess and intervene on behalf of clients. Problems where social work and the law overlap have consistently challenged social work professionals.
The most basic way I know how to describe social work is that it is a profession that concerns itself with the well being of a population and social workers help to provide assistance and support to those within that population. There are many different subsets of populations that one may find themselves in, such as elder care, families, children and youth, and those with disabilities, to name a few. Each of these groups has its own particular set of concerns and challenges, and so does every individual within that group. Social work is a complex network, but the overall goal is the same: act ethically and provide social justice to those in need. Since starting my career path in human services I have always strived to do just this.
