The Star Wars versus Star Trek feud could very well be the longest running competition in the geek universe. With each franchise having numerous movies, books, and entertainment under their belt, it leaves much to be compared. Whether it's costume and character design, plot and special effects, or box office earnings, Star Wars will always outshine Star Trek in nearly every category imaginable. All these traits are brought together flawlessly in each of them, giving Star Wars the gold on costume design. Star Wars does a fine job of making sure people remember the heroes and villains for the way they look. Taking Darth Vader for example, his all-black ensemble make him instantly recognizable to people that have never even seen the films. The story takes place over years and years in the character's lives and doesn't fully resolve until the last scene of the last movie, Return of the Jedi. Star Trek, in it's nature of being a TV show, has to have new story lines each week and it has to be tidied up within the hour time frame. There isn't really a story that gets fleshed out through the entirety of the show. Because of this, people get more involved into the story of Star Wars. Characters have more time to develop.
