The American and Russian Revolutions were two countries that wanted freedom, yet their ways of achieving that were different from one another. This essay will compare and contrast these two countries based on their political ideas. Social Structures, Methods, and Strategies and Economics. By doing so we will learn which one was more successful and why. The classes were not equal, Life for the Peasantry was horrible, they were starving. Their cities were overcrowded, People had no freedom, There were tons of protests, There was child labor and unfair working conditions. In October 1917 after this Ravalution, Lenin and the Bolsheviks took over. A lot of people supported the Bolsheviks because they promised to change things for the people. This saying from Lenin called “The Call of Power” says: “It would be an infinite crime on the part of the revolutionaries were they to let the chance slip, knowing that the salvation of the revolution, the offer of peace, the salvation of Petrograd, salvation from famine, the transfer of the land to the peasants depend upon them.” Lenin said that we have to change things now, we the people have a chance it, and by doing so we will get Peace, land, Freedom, and food. The government was weak because the Founding Fathers did not want them to have too much control over the citizens. The people themself got to vote for who comes into office. There were a lot of lives lost due to the battles. The soldiers were living in horrible conditions during the war. There was a group of people called Loyalists who stayed loyal to the British Empire. After the Revolution, they left America to go to Britain. Before the Revolution, the people had a lot of private businesses now the state-owned tons of businesses like banks that made the money lose value.
